  1. Im also restoring my old 900 turbo t16, yes there is rust indeed but the engine seems to be in tip top condition, the turbo seems abit tired though, but its tuned with bigger intercooler so i think i have to change it too.

  20. Uuuh those pre-owner welds are terrible. All lapped and they probably used fluxcore wire. Your welds are better than mine and Im a welder :). Yea I work with a lot thicker materials at work, but for home projects I have a 350Amp machine and that is very difficult to adjust for sheet metal, but I manage. The right welder is uber important when stiching a car back together. Even a novice can make good welds with a right welder. When a Pro would make utter shite with some fluxcore or thick wire. Gas type wont matter that much on sheet metal. I would save some pennies and use plain CO2. Cutting and making the parts as close to original takes 80% of the time.

  23. That's not an official Saab sunroof. They never factory installed glass roofs. I do like the idea of a glass roof though. The original Saab roof bolts up to the inside of the roof so I guess if you wanted to fit a proper Saab sunroof you would have to weld in the nuts which hold the roof cassette and that would also be a difficult job. The other problem with the saab roof is that it has a built-in wind deflecting lip at the front and rolled edges on the bodywork opening so it is more than just a hole in the metal. You'd have to get the surrounding metalwork and weld in the new opening. Either way it's going to be a difficult problem to solve. The easiest thing would be to take the panel from the donor car and blank it off. But a shame to lose the sunroof.

  44. Dit had je je toch niet kunnen inbeelden toen je je kanaal begon he, dat je zelf zo goed zou worden in rust repair. Ongelooflijk te zien hoe ver je gekomen bent, props. Beste wensen voor een nieuw top tier content gevuld jaar!
