Only one problem, I tried this with the key in and turned "off", didn't work.. Then I tried it with the key "on", and it did turn off the light while the fuse was out, but when I replaced the fuse, the light was still on. I had an OBD meter test and it reported the cat conv was not working. No idea what to do next.
Got a question. If the underlying problem was not addressed, how many miles can I drive it, before the light comes back on? For example, just hypothetically, if my state inspection site was, oh I don't know, let's just say…uh, 3 miles away, do you think the light would re-illuminate by then? Just hypothetically that is. Er..uh…Nothing nefarious behind that question I can assure you. Just curious really. hehe.
@richpin06a. Hi Rich, We gave our grandson our 1998 Honda Accord & Whenever the check engine light & the service engine soon light. Didn't need a scan tool, I just had to pull one of the fuses & put the key in the ''On'' position, then both lights would go out. Do you know which fuse I'd have to pull?
I have a friend who has a 2000 SL1. His check engine light is out but my OBDII says there is a P0410 error (secondary air). He took it to get it inspected and they said the computer couldn't be read. It hasn't been reset for weeks. The check engine light lights when I turn on the ignition so it's not burned out. Could this be a problem with the PCM? I'm lost.
I wonder if will work on my 2005 Buick Century. I've replaced the map sensor and the o2 sensors, but I can't figure out how to get the service engine soon light to go off. If anyone has any suggestions, please do respond to my post. It would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Richpin I got a question for you. I have a 94 Saturn sl2. Speedometer works great till I hit the highway.. when I try to go past 70mph a check engine light comes on.. the car acts like it won't go past 70mph.. I replaced speed sensor and the connection because of exposed wires but still no dice.. just wondering if it can be a fuse or a bad relay.

how do you do this? do you just use pliers to remove that and put it back??
